摘要:We studied the difference in neurological findings of newborn babies born in breech and cephalic position and delivered by elective Caesarean section. Neurological examination was performed on the second and fifth days. We found the following significant differences: decreased spontaneous motility in horizontal pronation, absence of the crawling reflex, less prominent raising of the head from the sitting position, decreased stepping on feet, absence of the walking reflex, absence of the reflex of stepping over. Significantly decreased motility of the newborn infant suggests that the reactions causing the change of the fetal position were absent or diminished during the intrauterine development. Considering that significant normalization of the neurological findings occurred in the first seven days, the explanation for these findings should be sought in the decreased volume of the intrauterine space available to the fetus
