摘要:Modern cardiology has achieved significant developments in understanding the etiology and pathophysiology and especially in the diagnostics in the area of its concern. Cardiology is now able to treat in a physiologically established way many disorders whose prognosis was previously poor, providing patients with a satisfactory quality of life. Heart failure, or decompensation, denotes a condition in which the heart is unable to maintain an adequate minute volume to meet the metabolic needs of the organism despite the use of compensatory mechanisms. Heart failure is etiologically significant primarily for the development of cerebrovascular neurological diseases, and in a small, almost insignificant number of cases it contributes to the development of inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system (meningoencephalitides, abscesses). Cerebrovascular disorders which are complications of heart failure are in a large number of cases ischemic brain diseases. In addition, it should be emphasized that the seizure-type crises of consciousness should be considered clinical presentations of the development of embolic ischemia of the brain parenchyma
