摘要:Coronary disease as the main manifestation of atherosclerosis of coronary arteries is the main cause of ischemia of the heart and is usually diagnosed in people in the peak of their lives and professional careers, at the age between 40 and 60. It, therefore, represents a great problem for the economy of highly developed countries, let alone for people of poor and the developing countries. The most severe coronary disease, myocardial infarction or acute coronary syndrome without ST elevation (unstable angina pectoris) may result in a sudden death of the patient. The consequences of this disease are not known to the vast majority of th e population. These consequences may also result in permanent invalidity of the patient and his or her inability to go back to work. It has been proven that the disease can be prevented by changing the life style of the patients, by using prophylactic drugs in patients with coronary disease or patients who have increased risk factors, so that the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality be decreased, which represent the only way to control and stop this present day epidemic disease. A comparative analyses have been presented with contemporary recommendations for evaluating risk factors in order to point out their importance in the development of coronary disease and other diseases caused by atherosclerosis, with the special reference to the differences between the European and American attitudes towards coronary disease management and recommendations for its treatment. In order to get contemporary insight into the problem of this disease, some facts about CRP have been reconsidered about the new and very reliable marker and the indicator of future atherosclerosis. Little has been known about this marker recently, because it has mainly been used to indicate inflammatory diseases. Now it is used for diagnostic purposes
