摘要：The application of modern information technologies has significantly facilitated collection and analysis of data and interpretation of results in the graphic environment. Scientific articles, parnticularly in medicine, require compiling and analyzing various types of data, based on which previously proposed hypotheses are confirmed or dismissed. They frequently contain many other interesting indicantors, such as indistinctive hidden dependences, causative relationships, correlations etc. This has imnposed the need of using modern concepts and statistical analysis tools, which may, and should be of innterest for experts in the relevant fields, particularly for those involved in medical research. Our article describes the concept of Data Warehouse, the Data Mining techniques, and the statistical analysis softnware Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The application of the Data Mining techniques is illustrated with patients with stroke and dementia, and examples of the classification trees are provided
