摘要：Perceived social support is closely linked with the presence of depression in patients on hemodialysis. Researches conducted so far have shown that depression is multifactorial, taking into account the assumption that perceived social support plays a significant roll in the occurence of depressive characteristics among patients undergoing treatment with hemodialysis. In order to check these results on a domestic sample of patients on hemodialysis, evaluation of depression was conducted with the help of Beck Depression Inventory, whereas Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support was used to evaluate perceived social support. The research included 93 participants aged 24 to 78, who received hemodialysis treatment due to renal insufficiency. Results showed that perceived social support is closely linked with the presence of depression, with poorer social support correlating with the development of depression
