摘要：Diabetic polyneuropathy is the most common complication of diabetes mellitus, and is accompanied by the impairment of the peripheral motor neuron where sensory, motor and vegetative fibers may be affected, whereby in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy complaints may emerge as the result of the periphery motor neuron being affected. Early diagnosis of diabetic polyneuropathy is necessary for administering an adequate therapy with the aim of preventing or delaying further consequences of diabetes which would further worsen the quality of life. The aim of this article is to emphasize the importance of timely diagnosis of diabetic polyneuropa-thy and of administering timely therapeutical measures, and to compendiously indicate the necessary elements of diagnosis and tracking of the course of diabetic polyneuropathy, its varieties and severeness, and point out to some of the contemporary diagnostic procedures in the clinical and electromyographycal segments of diagnostic procedures of diabetic polyneuropathy.
