摘要：Migraine and epilepsy are chronic neurologic disorders characterized by paroxismal dis.turbance of neurologic function, with a partial clinical and therapeutic overlap and frequently oc.curring together. Comorbidity may be the reason for diagnostic and differential diagnostic prob.lems, has treatment implications and effects on the patient's quality of life. Association between migraine and epilepsy can be coincidental. However, there are some epileptic syndromes that are asso.ciated more frequently with migraine than can be explained by chance alone. The presence of one dis.order increases the likelihood that the other is also present. Clinical studies have shown that some an.tiepileptic drugs are effective at preventing migraine attacks. A rationale for their use in migraine prophylaxis is the hypothesis that migraine and epilepsy share several common pathogenetic mechanisms
