摘要：Diabetic autonomic neuropathy is the least recognized complication of diabetes. It decreases quality of life and increases the risk of death in patients with diabetes. Diabetes can cause dysfunction of any part of the autonomic nervous system, leading to a range of impairments. It can damage any organ in the body, from the gastrointestinal system to the skin. Subclinical dysfunction may occur within one year following the diagnosis of diabetes type 1 and within two years following the diagnosis of diabetes type 2. Multiple etiological factors have been implicated in the development of diabetic neuropathy. Cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy is a common manifestation of diabetic autonomic neuropathy, that may increase the incidence of asymptomatic ischemia and myocardial infarction and reduce survival after myocardial infarction. Gastrointestinal autonomic neuropathy involves gastric dysfunction, constipation, diarrhea, and esophageal dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction and cystopathy are frequent manifestations of genitourinary tract impairment. Early detection and control of diabetes can prevent, slow down the progression or delay the development of diabetic neuropathy, including diabetic autonomic neuropathy
