摘要:The present study compared neurological deficits and subjective experience of illness, i.e. quality of life (QOL), in 60 persons suffering from multiple sclerosis. The functional status was assessed using the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), the Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT), the Beck De-pression Inventory (BDI) and the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), whereas the subjective experience of illness was evaluated using the general quality of life questionnaire SF-36 and the multiple sclerosis disease-specif-ic quality of life questionnaire MSQOL-54. The study results showed that QOL was significantly impaired in patients with more marked neurological deficits who suffered from depression and fatigue; the impact of depression on the EDSS score was not statistically significant, whereas the impact of fatigue was
