摘要:Myasthenia gravis is an antigen-specific autoimmune disease in which the anti-nicotinic AChR antibodies cause a postsynaptic blockade of neuromuscular transmission. Basic characteristics of the dis-ease are variable weakness and excessive fatigue of skeletal muscles that typically improve after rest or ap-plication of anticholinesterase medications. The treatment involves the use of immunosuppressants, immu-immunosuppressants, immu-nomodulators, medications that improve neuromuscular transmission via postsynaptic action, and plas-and plas-mapheresis. We present a 34-old female patient who suffered from a generalised form of myasthenia gravis (2B according to Osserman) since the age of 15. She was admitted to the Neurology Clinic for a myasthenic crisis, two and a half months pregnant at the time. The patient was treated with anticholinesterase medica-tions, corticosteroids, and intravenous immunoglobulins in a dose of 30gr daily for two days every 21 days by delivery. Clinically, the patient's condition improved significantly and the pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery period were normal. The patient gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
