摘要：Involuntary movements are rare stroke manifestation. Vascular insult is most oft en located in the basal ganglia, leading to an impairment of cortico- subcortical circuits, which clinically manifests as hemichorea, hemibalism, dystonia of parkinsonism. We present a case of 64 years old woman who was admitted to our Clinic because of sudden choreatic involuntary movements of the right arm. Computerized Tomography showed hemorrhagic focus in the basal ganglia, more precisely in globus pallidus. Further on we discuss epidemiology, etiology and the outcome of hemichorea and hemibalism in stroke patients
