摘要：This collection of 19 short stories by Tagore brings out the best of the writer’s creative talent and his inventiveness. Its tranaslator-cum-introducer, Prof. Quayam himself is a Bengali belonging to Bangladesh, and ostensibly knows the subtle nuances of Bengali language. For as we know, Tagore wrote his works first in Bengali and then translated them into English. Even his Nobel Prize-winning Gitanjali (comprising 103 songs in toto and carrying a remarkable Introduction by W.B. Yeats) is no exception to this.
