摘要：The impetus for this paper came, unexpectedly, from a news report published in one of the leading national dailies of India about women‘s non-conformity to stereotypical roles in terms hitherto unthought-of. Though tucked innocuously amidst news of greater importance, it caught attention because of its unusual subject matter -- something that the civil society in India (read the Indian subcontinent) cringes to talk about openly and discretely tries to shove it under the rug.
