摘要：There are different ways of readingHeart of darknessand the has has been analysed assuch. However, one way of reading it is to employ Freudian pasychoanalysitcaltechniques in order to learn the precise nature of the collective pathology of the ModernEuropean mindset in the very terms through which it began to understand its ownpsychology. By doing so, it will be helpeful to underatnd if Kurtz was an individual ornot. If he was not, then the next task is to find out how much typical Euroean-colonialmind he actually reflected in his dealings and lording it over with the natives
