摘要：We all went to classes at school during the war. Sandbags rimmed the entrances to eachbuilding. I don't remember any emergency instructions, though I remember being showna quick way to the art room where Mrs. Rahman, a free-spirited, earth-mother archetypewas in charge. If the art room, which appeared built into the side of a bluff like a giantbeige linoleum floored and well-litcave, was the air raid shelter, it was a poor choice.The entire front of the art room was a glass wall, the same wall my friend ran into whilechasing a paper airplane.
