摘要：In this paper,various existingsimulation environments for general purpose andspecific purposeWSNs arediscussed.Thefeatures ofnumber of different sensor network simulators and operating systemsarecompared.We havepresented an overview of the mostcommonly usedoperating systemsthatcan be usedindifferent approaches toaddressthe common problems of WSNs.For different simulation environmentsthere are different layer, componentsandprotocols implemented so thatit is difficult to compare them.When same protocol is simulated usingtwo different simulatorsstill each protocol implementation differs,sincetheir functionality is exactly not the same.Selection of simulator is purely based on the application,sinceeach simulator has a varied range of performance depending on application
