摘要:An initial archaeological reconnaissance of Anegada, the only low-lying coral and limestone island in the Virgin group, yielded information about two pre-Columbian midden sites and other anthropogenic features of probable pre-Columbian age. Of additional note is an absence of sites along Anegada's coastline. This apparent anomaly seems to be a product of the island's highly dynamic geomorphology. Possible reasons for pre-Columbian activity on Anegada are discussed, and directions for future research are suggested
