摘要:Generally speaking, industrial relations studies have focused on the relationship between the employers and employees in employment relationships. While this is largely true in most of the developed world, the reality is that in developing societies, industrial relations is a study of the interaction between the state and labour, as represented by their unions. Understanding the character of the state, its orientation and philosophy is critical to appreciating the nature, scope and complexity of industrial relations, particularly against the backdrop of persistent struggles between trade unions and the state, or its agents. The paper therefore, contends that a study of industrial relations trends in Nigeria will give primacy to the dialectics between trade union and the state. Full Text
