摘要:The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of selected strategic factors namely, organizational history of crises, organizational size, strategic leadership and employee competences on effective crises management in petrol filling stations in Nakuru Town, Kenya. The population of the study comprised 54 senior employees’ (the manager and supervisor) of the 27 active petrol filling stations in Nakuru Town. Using Cochran (1977) formula, sample of 46 senior employees was selected from 20 randomly selected filling petrol stations. 38 respondents filled the questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression models were used to analyze the data. The study found that only history of crises had a negative effect on crises preparedness. However, the other factors had a positive effect on crises preparedness. Among these, Employee Competence had the most positive significant effect. It is recommended that employees should be trained on crises preparedness to enhance organizational crisis preparedness.
