摘要:Antioxidant activity is defined as the ability of a compound or a mixture of compounds inhibit oxidative degradation of various substances (e.g., preventing lipid peroxidation). Methods used for determination of antioxidant activity bases on the direct reaction of compound of interest with radicals (scavenging or complexing) or on the reaction with transition metals. The aim of this study was to optimize, automate and accurately describe the protocols of five photometric methods: the DPPH, TEAC, FRAP, DMPD and Free Radicals Kit, used to determine the antioxidant activity of a biological sample. Methods were standardized using the substance Trolox (6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman-2-carboxylic acid). Advantages, disadvantages and limitations of each method were discussed
