  • 摘要:In this study, the psychosocial influence of parenting styles and emotional intelligence on violent beh aviour among college of education students were examined. A correlation research design was employed for the study in which two research questions were raised to guide the study. Two hundred and three students were randomly drawn from a college of Education through a simple random sampling technique. Three research instruments emp loyed for the study which were: Self-report Family Inventory (r= 0.78), Emotional Intelligence Sca le (r = 0.81) and Maudsley Violence Questionnaire (r = 0.89). Multiple regression was the statistical mea sure employed to organise the data collected. The major results indicated that parenting style and emotion al intelligence are powerful to the prediction of violent behaviour among college of education students both at joint and individual account. The outcomes o f the study were discussed and the implications of the study to the policy makers, clinical practitioners as well as sch ool management were highlighted
