摘要:The aim of this research is to determine the effects of storyline method, which is used in science lessons, on the academic achievemen t of 5thgrade students. Pre-test post-test matched pairs control group experimental design was used in the research. The study group of the research was made of 5thgrade students in a primary school in Kayseri in 2010-2011 academic years. There were two groups in the research; one of the groups was called experimental, the other was called control group. Storyline method was used in the education of the experimental group while traditional method was used in the education of control group. Group Wilcoxon and Mann Whiteney U tests were used in the analysis of data. While there was found to be a statistically significant difference between the pre-test last and test points of students in the experimental group, there was no significant difference between control group students. pre-test and post-test points. When the post-tests of the two groups were compared, it was seen that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group. According to the results of the research , storyline method is more effective in terms of increasing the aca demic achievement of students compared to traditional method.
