摘要：Unemployment are one of the burning issuethat nation has been facing since a long.Its magnitude has increased in the post reform period. There are wide inter-state variations regarding magnitude ofunemployment in India. Though J&K State figures at the lowest level, yet the actual figure is far from reality due to decliningimportance of employment exchanges of the state for providing data regarding educated unemployment. At the same time employment structure in the state demonstrates skewed distribution biased towards tertiary sectors.Inthis paper an attempt has been made to examine the rates and causes of unemployment in the state and present pattern of employment in J&K
