摘要:In 1986, 20 percent of households living in Alberta were poor, whereas 38 percent of households living in Atlantic Canada feH into the same category.\ Why are thcre such differences across regions in the incidence of poverty? This is a perennial question in Canada but one seldom subjected to econometric investigation-sec Perron and Vaillancourt (1988) and Dooley (1989), two of the existing econometric studies of poverty in Canada.
