摘要:Multilingual electronic meetings have been used forovertwo decades, and several studies have investigatedtheireffects on participant comprehension. However, none has studied how the choice of topic influences understanding of the discussion. In this study, tengroups offiveMandarinandfiveEnglish-speaking studentseachexchanged opinions about five differenttopics chosen to obtain a wide variation in measures of solution multiplicity, participant knowledge, intrinsic interest, importance, ambiguity, self-efficacy,difficulty, and boundary fitness. The resultsshowed that only perceptions of topic ambiguity were significantly correlated with comprehension of the multilingual discussion
