摘要：Purpose:The aim of stud y was to detect PRL-3 prot ein in sera of patient s with colorectal cancer. Methods:The study group consist ed of 22 patients wit h co lorectal carcinoma and 10 healthy controls. The serum concentratio n of PRL-3 protein was evaluated by the ELISA metho d. Results:In t he st udy group with colorectal cancer, the level o f PRL-3 protein in preoperative sera was negative (<0.115ng/ml) in 7 cases while t he mean value of PRL-3 concentratio n was 0.616ng/ml (range 0.206-2.072ng/ml) in 15 patients. No statistically significant differences between the study group and healt hy cont rols were observed. Our data showed that increase in level of PRL-3 protein in sera of p atients with colorectal cancer is asso ciat ed with greater t umor size (p<0.05). Conclusions:PRL-3 protein was fou nd to be present in sera o f patients with co lorectal cancer. However, o ur study ind icates lack of clinical usefu lness of determining the levels of PRL-3 in the sera of patients with co lorectal cancer
