This case study has captured the challenges some business men faced during their attempt to open a branch for their parent company in Penang, Malaysia. It has reflected many issues pertaining to the failure of the office in Penang. The case has also showed different types of mangers: Ameen, who was an example of an effective manager, who played a very important role in making the office in Penang a successful one, but he was not given the chance and power to do his job freely and Sharon whose arrogance and unethical deeds have led to the failure of the office in Penang. First year students majoring in business would learn some business-related lessons from the case. These lessons include the role of communication in business, the role of applying a reward system in the company, and the role of understanding the culture of a country where business is to be open.
