The study uses Alkire and Foster’s (2007) methodology to measure Multidimensional Child Poverty in Punjab province of Pakistan using Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS-4) data for 2007-08. Present methodology based on traditional Foster Greer Thorbecke (FGT) measure of poverty uses adjusted head count ratio by breadth of deprivation of multidimensional poverty to go together with other measures of child poverty. This measure also satisfies the property of decomposability. The results show that deprivation in terms of overcrowding and enrolment is at its highest level for rural and urban cases whereas deprivation is at its lowest level in health access in rural and urban areas, respectively. Deprivation in Vitamin A, Immunization, sanitation facilities and lack of access to safe drinking water is greater in rural areas than urban areas. Pakistan’s case is particularly important due to political instability, existing violence and bad governance which caused significant increase in child poverty.
