摘要:Conflicts are the inevitable part of the school life. As a product of the interpersonal interactions and a natural result of the differences in the perceptions, of the past experiences and individual features, conflicts become unavoidable side of the social life. Many people think of conflicts that as an unhealthy and undesirable event to be avoided on every occasion. However, when the nature of the conflict is understood and it is managed well, it can lead to individual and organizational development. The main goal of this research is, according to the views of the principals, to determine the current conflict situation and the attitudes of the school members towards the results of the conflicts at schools; and to clarify the conflict management styles of the principals. The research group comprises 30 school principals in the centre of Diyarbakır. The views of the principals were taken through interview technique. The obtained data were analyzed through qualitative techniques. The findings of the research revealed that most of the intra-organizational conflicts affirmatively resulted; and these results were welcomed by the school members; the principals generally preferred the integration and cooperation styles in the conflict management, however they were generally exposed to some kinds of coercions as well. Meantime, some of the principals have not satified with their own conflict management styles. Some recommendations were made according to the obtained results.
