摘要:The aim of this study is to identify reading difficulties faced by primary school teachers’ in their classrooms and their strategies to overcome it. In the study, case study approach which is used in qualitative studies is utilized. Data was collected through semi-structured interview technique applied to 10 primary teachers who work in Trabzon, Gümüşhane and Rize. The data was through content analysis. Interview results illustrate that teachers come across reading difficulties of their pupils in their classrooms and they try to use different approaches to remove reading difficulties of children. It was found out that teachers’ approaches for preventing reading difficulties were partly effective but teachers perceive themselves inadequate mostly. At the end of the study it was recommended that practical seminars for teachers, parents and students should be arranged or appropriate teaching and learning environments should be created where teachers could be modeling effective reading
