摘要：OBJECTIVES: To study the health seekingpatterns of women for Antenatal care duringpregnancy & to study the utilization of deliveryservices by women and the utilization of childhealth care during first month of life of new born.METHODOLOGY: Present study is alongitudinal qualitative study. 30 Anganwadiswere selected by systemic random sampling.Total 60 women from 30 Anganwadis in thirdtrimester of pregnancy were enrolled in the studyafter their consent by in-depth. They were studiedfor their pregnancy perception and health seekingbehavior during pregnancy (Phase I). They werethen followed up after one month of delivery forthe childbirth experience (Phase II).RESULTS : Around (87%) of the women wereregistered in Anganwadi as the Anganwadiworker had come and registered. More than half(54%) of the women were registered by the end offirst trimester. Most of them preferred to go inPrivate hospitals. Almost all women (97%) usedto go for Antenatal Care for their baby's goodhealth and safe delivery. Majority preferredPrivate Hospital for delivery. Only few (8%) wentfor home delivery. Around 2/3rdof women hadtheir Postnatal Check up (PNC) done.CONCLUSIONS: Majority of women preferredprivate hospital for delivery in spite of being fromlower socio economic group and most of themothers ignored postnatal care
