摘要：BACKGROUND: Hepatitis B is highly endemicthroughout world. Laboratory technicians are atmore risk for it due to blood exposure which ispreventable.OBJECTIVES: (1) To assess the KAP ofHepatitis B among the laboratory technician.(2) To know their vaccination status.METHOD: A cross sectional study wasconducted in civil hospital. Total 60 laboratorytechnicians from different departments wereenrolled. A pre-tested questionnaire was used tocollect information.RESULT: More than half of laboratorytechnicians (66.7%) know that hepatitis B is aninfectious disease and 88.3% believe that it isspread by infected blood.96.7% know that itaffects the liver. 86.7% were wearing gloves andtaking precaution while handling thesample.13.3% were exposed to infectious materialduring their job. Only 35% were fully immunized.CONCLUSION: Majority of laboratorytechnician know that hepatitis B is infectious andpreventable but knowledge about the disease andprotective measures are still needed in laboratorytechnicians.
