  • 摘要:Reflective practice is a techniq ue t hrou gh which tea chers ca n improve th eir effect iven ess i n th e classroom. It is a pro of o f self ob servation as it can b e h elpfu l for the tea chers for a d eeper u nderstand ing of th eir t each ing style a nd fo r ensurin g the effectiveness as a teacher. Th e ba sic o bject ive o f the stud y wa s to st udy t he current si tuati on regarding reflective practices at uni versi ty level. The p opul ation of th e stu dy consisted o f all the t each ers o f edu cati on depart men t/facu lty of Public and Private sector uni versi ties of Ra walp indi and Islamaba d. An opin ion naire wa s ad ministered to collect the d ata. The respon ses of 42 faculty members were received in tota l. The results o f the stud y sh owed that teachers n orma lly write the dia ry, enco urag ed to wards th e in struction al manag ement, o bserve th e pra ctice of keeping and man agin g stu dent s' record s, g et feedba ck from o ther coll eagu es, evalu ate th emselves and h ad g ood coordina tion with their coll eagu es a nd st uden ts. On th e ba sis o f the results o f the stud y it was recommen ded that for t he p rofession al d evelo pment of teachers, reflect ive p ract ice may b e u pgra ded,& a p rofession al develo pment prog rams may be cond ucted . It is also reco mmended tha t reflective practice should be intro duced as a cou rse in teach er trainin g progra ms a nd practical a ppro ach of reflecti ve p racti ce be embedd ed i n in -service teach er traini ng progra ms.
