摘要：MANET is a cooperative network in which nodes are responsible for forwarding as well as routing.Noncooperation is still a big challenge that certainly degrades the performance and reliabilityof aMANET. This paper presents a novel methodology to overcome routingmisbehaviorin MANE TusingRetaliationModel.In this modelnodemisbehavioris watched and an equivalentmisbehavior isgiven inreturn. This modelemploysseveral parameterssuch asnumberofpacketsforwarded, number of packetsreceived for forwarding, packet forwarding ratioetc.to calculate GradeandBonusPoints.TheGradeisused to isolate selfish nodes from the routingpaths andtheBonusPointsdefines the number ofpacketsdropped by an honest nodein retaliation over its misconducts.The implementation is donein "GloMoSim"on top of the DSR protocol. We obtainedup to 40%packet delivery ratio with a cost ofa minimumof7.5%overheadcomparedto DSR.To minimize total control traffic overhead we have included the FG Modelwith our model and it reduces the overhead up to75%.This model enforces cooperation due to its stricterpunishment strategy and justifies its name
