摘要:This paper attempts to justify the importance of talent management and retention of employees in 21stcentury. Today knowledge oriented world the most important asset for any business and non business institution is its talented workers. These are also known as knowledge workers. Along with the understanding of the need to hire, develop and retain talented employees, organizations should manage their talent. Only by this way they can best utilize the capabilities of employees. Earlier talent management was a part of personnel management. But now it is under Human resource management. Employees show their commitment toward the organization when some progression occur in their life. So, human resource managers should understand the needs and expectations of employees. Only by serving the needs of employees, organization can retain their implicit knowledge. Knowledge worker is like asset in organization. It can be appreciated if managed properly, but it can turn into liability if left alone. So this paper tires to focus on the problems and practices in effective talent management. Paper will also focus on some solutions to the problems faced by Human resource managers in managing the knowledge workers
