摘要:Survival analysis with genesis in biometry and reliability analysis evolved withstatistical mo deling and analysis of life time data and survival distributions. Dur-ing the past three decades, the advent of clinical trials has expanded its domain toclinical epidemiology, biomedical sciences, and public health disciplines, encom-passing a variety of regression and noncompliance models. In this evolutionaryprocess, parametrics gave way to more robust nonparametreics and semiparamet-rics where counting processes have stolen the methodoloic limelights. The pastfew years have witnessed a phenomenal growth of research in genomic sciences. From drug research and developmental perspectives, in pharmacogenoimcs thereis a genuine need to incorporate survival analysis (albeit in a somewhat di.erentform) in genomic clinical trials (involving biomarkers). The present study aimsto provide a general appraisal of survival analysis with due emphasis on clinicaltrials as well as pharmacogenomics
