摘要：In the bivariate continuous set up exponential, Lomax and FRdistributions have been characterized by Roy and Gupta (1996) using con-stancy of the co e.cient of variation of the residual lives. The present workexamines a related characterization result for the bivariate discrete set up. Inthis pro cess importance of the coe.cient of factorial variation has been em-phasized and bivariate generalization of Waring and negative hypergeometricdistributions have been obtained. Some other asso ciated results using themeasure of memory have been studied. An application has also been addedat the end to demonstrate the strength of the characterization result
