摘要:The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of problems the third and fourth grade students at the Faculty of Science and Literature and the Faculty of Education have ondefining the accumulation point, a central concept, knowing the concepts necessary for defining it and deciding where to use it. The study was carried out through the survey model. The data wascollected through the Concept Information Form (CIF) from a total of 107 third and fourth grade students who studied Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Literature and the Faculty of Education in an intermediately-populated city located in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Turkey, during the fall term of the educational year 2011-2012. A descriptive analysis was conducted on the data. It was concluded that students have problems on"defining the accumulation point", "knowing the concepts necessary for defining it" and "deciding where to use it".
