摘要：SMEs trend, in the current economic context is moving undeniably towardssustainable development and performance. Sustainable performance of an organization isachieved by its ability to meet the needs and expectations of customers and otherstakeholders, on a long term and in a balanced way. Markets globalization, greaterproportion of services or significant changes in information technology, lead companies morethan ever to an pro cesses-oriented approach. Organizations ability to plan processesfilmmakers value to a higher quality, especially, to adapt, to develop and to improve,independent of objectives, size and types of products or services of the company, is anessential advantage compared with competitors in the market. The aim of this paper is toidentify the impact of implementing a quality management system on sustainable developmentof the organization. The work is based on a research conducted by authors done on theinterview, using a questionnaire developed for this purpose, during 2010 –2011, on a sampleof 75 external auditors of quality management systems, the first five certification bodies onRomanian market.This work has been prepared as part of project POSDRU/88/1.5./S/55287 "Doctoral thesis ineconomy at European knowledge standards (DOESEC)", co-financed by the European SocialFund through Sectorial Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013and coordinated by The Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies in partnership withTimisoara West University.
