摘要:Assessing higher education staff performance is an important aspect of highereducation institutions management, because it can lead to a better understanding of thedynamic nature of professional development and its perception as a continuous process. Thequality of the assessment should reflect the academic skills of teachers in the maincomponents of their work (teaching activities, research, relationships, employment training,etc.). Although research has an important place in higher education, a particular attention ispaid to the quality of teaching and assessing the teachers' contributions to the development ofthe professional activity. The quality of research also determines the quality of didacticprocess. The assessment of teaching quality in higher education is a global and complexprocess made upon the information obtained directly from colleagues, students, alumni, staff,and experts. These information processed by management, should lead to an accurate view onthe work of the teacher. The questionnaire used in research of this article is intended toidentify which is teachers' perception on the value and efficacy of the assessment of teachingprocess. Applied to a number of 114 teachers from three universities in North-EasternRomania, the questionnaire aims to identify the current situation in the field, to improvecertain practices in assessing teaching and learning function
