摘要:The Tyranny of Good Intentions discusses, or at least alludes to, some of the most important issues about democracy. The authors' different perspectives could add important insights to these subjects. The lead author, Paul Craig Roberts, is an economist who was trained in public choice theory, served in the Reagan administration as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, and was a leading "supply sider" instrumental in shaping the 1981 Tax Act. Mr. Stratton is a lawyer. Together, they could have created a synthesis of law and public choice theory that would improve our understanding of how well-intentioned officials could produce tyranny.
