摘要：This study examined the frequency and quality of depictions of both gay and lesbian police officers and gay and lesbian communities in the first three decades of the Core Cop Film Genre. An examinationof 88 films between 1971 and 2001 resulted in only one portrayal of a gay or lesbian police officer, two insinuations, and only two portrayals of law enforcement interactions with the homosexual community. Utilizing research on cultivation theory as a base, insight is provided as to the potential implications of both the lack of gay or lesbian police officer portrayals and the quality of the few images that were identified. In addition, further analysis of criminal justice professionals, utilizing cultivation theory, is called for
