摘要:This paper will use manufacturing simulation methods to explore the inherent tradeoffs between system throughput and product quality when a "Stop for Quality" methodology is used to control an assembly conveyor. There are different sources of data available in the manufacturing environment and these will be compared. Stochastic distributions will be modeled and compared to the actual results. The goal is to develop an alternative method of determining system throughp ut. This alternate system can then be used to determine the correctness of the current throughput measurements.Simulation software will be used to analyze interactions between different "Stop for Quality" methods such as stopping in the individual workspaces or using end-of-zone line stops
