摘要:Inhibitive action of petersianthus macrocarpus leave extract on corrosion of mild steel in 1M HCl and 0.5M H2SO4solutions was studied using gravimetric, electrochemical impedance and potentiodynamic methods. The results indicated that the extracts functioned as a good inhibitor in both environments and inhibition efficiency increased with extract concentration. Temperature studies in the range 313-333K reveal increase in inhibition efficiency of the extract with rise in temperature. A mechanism of chemical adsorption on the extract components on the surface of the metal is proposed for the inhibition behavior. The adsorption characteristics of the inhibitor were found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm
