摘要：This paper suggeststhedifference method of estimation ofthe population mean of the study variable using information on an auxiliary variable with its properties.The optimum estimator in the suggested method has been identified alongwith its mean square error formula. It has been identified that the suggested method is more general and efficient thanother existing methods. An empiricalstudy is carried out to judge the merits of proposed method over other traditional methods by using three natural population data sets
