摘要:Background:Construction workers are the second largestworkforce in un-organized sector of thecountry. They are exposed to various hazardsdue to work conditions. OccupationalDermatitis is one of the commonest hazardsamong construction workers, most commonlydue to exposure to cement and other materialslike paints and resins, used at constructionsites.Objectives:To find out prevalence of skin morbidity andits relation with provision and practice ofusage of Personal Protective Equipments(PPEs) among construction workers.Methodology:A cross sectional study among constructionworkers working at various sites ofSumandeep Vidyapeeth. Data was collectedwith the help of a pre-designed and pre-testedquestionnaire for skin morbidity.Results:20.3% of workers had skin morbidity likedermatitis and itching. Only 28(12.5%) out of230 workers were provided the PPEs atworkplace, however, only eight were usingthem regularly during work and it was foundthat prevalence of skin morbidity was less inthis group compared to the group which wasnot using them regularly at workplace.Conclusion:Skin morbidity is one of the commonesthazards among construction workers.Morbidity is lesser among regular PPE users atworkplace
