摘要：The paper emphasizes the role and the issues of the statistical system of indicators at local level, both forRomania and European Community. The interest shown by the European Commission and Eurostat incollecting relevant information on urban areas within the EU enlargement process led to the launch in1998 of the Urban Audit Pilot Phase (UAPP). The project proved to be successful, that is why it wasdecided that it should be aimed at candidate countries as well
