摘要：The paper deals with structural modifications occurred in the Romanian manufacturing structurebetween 1990 and 2006, their causes and effects on the level of overall economic and social developmentof the country.The changes are highlighted by type of manufacturing industry sectors, identified depending on differentcriteria, such as: the level of technologies used, the nature of products yielded, the available base of rawmaterial etc.The main conclusion that can be drawn from the analysis we have carried out is that the Romanianmanufacturing industry did not undergo the necessary structural changes, able to enable it to fully gainthe features of a modern industry characterized by flexibility, high competitiveness and efficiency
