摘要：This paper started from the fact that social responsibility is evolving rapidly and, furthermore, the companies' expectations are growing, too. Thus, the present paper aims to offer an image of the social responsibility activities in the Romanian business environment, focusing on the social involvement of the SMEs. Social Responsibility began to gain shape in the business strategies of the Romanian companies, with the budget ranging from a few thousand Euros for SMEs, up to millions for large companies. But the financial crisis and the current economic context bring into question the success of CSR programs, given the fact that more and more companies tend to drastically reduce spending. On the other hand, the current Romanian legislation represents an obstacle for the Development of the Social Responsibility strategies in the Romanian companies
