  • 摘要:Purpose: To det ermine the volume of the cerebellum in children wit h spast ic cerebral palsy (CP) in relation to risk factors and motor development. Material and methods: The present st udy included 30 children with spastic CP, aged 2-17 years. The vo lume of t he cerebellum was examined on sagittal magnetic resonance imag es (MRI) of the CP pat ients and on 33 healthy subjects. To estimate t he total cerebellum volume of each subject we used Analyze 10 Bio medical Imaging Software. Results: Children with spastic CP (129726,2 ± 26040,72 mm3) had a significantly smaller mean of t he cerebellum vo lume co mpared to controls (143122,5 ± 12351,10 mm3). No significant difference between t he tot al cerebellar vo lume and gender in pat ients with CP was found. No significant relat ionship between cerebellar vo lume and birth weig ht, Apgar score, gestational age, and Gross Motor Function Classificat ion System (GMFCS) level were not ed. Positive correlations between birth weight, Apgar score, gestational age, and GMFCS level, between Apgar score and gestatio nal age, or between gestational age and GMFCS level were found. Conclusion: Our results show that children with spastic CP had smaller volumes o f the cerebellu m as co mpared to controls
